The Liberty Road Recreation and Parks Council was formed out of a need for greater community involvement in the development of recreation activities in the Liberty Road area. The Council is founded on the belief that a community knows best which recreation activities are needed in its area and can best administer those activities at the community level. The Council is further founded on the belief that recreation programs and activities should be developed and maintained only when the community supports those programs both through adequate attendance and volunteer support.
The Liberty Road Recreation and Parks Council is non-partisan, non-profit, non-sectarian and non-commercial, and the Council's programs and services are open to the general public without regard to race, creed, color or national origin.
